பொங்கல் திருநாளில் மாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்துவோம் – சார்ல்ஸ் பொங்கல் வாழ்த்து

இவ்வாண்டு மாற்றம்  ஏற்பட வேண்டிய மிக முக்கியமான வருடம் எனவும் அதிலும்  நமது இந்தியர்களின் தலையெழுத்தையே மாற்ற நாம் ஆயுத்தமாக வேண்டிய வருடம் எனவும் கிள்ளான் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோ கூறினார்.

பழையவற்றை (தீயவையை) எறித்து, புதியவையை எதிர்பாத்து நம் வாழ்வில் மாற்றம் வரவேண்டும் என்றெண்ணி குடும்ப உறுப்பினர்களுடன் ஒன்றிணைந்து பொங்கல் வைத்து கொண்டாடும் நன்னாள் தான் இந்த பொங்கல் திருநாள்.

இந்தியர்களுக்கு குறிப்பாக தமிழர்களுக்கு முக்கியமான பெருநாளான இந்த பொங்கல் திருநாளை குடும்பத்துடனும் உற்றார் உறவினருடனும்  இனிதே கொண்டாடி மகிழ வாழ்த்தும் இதே வேளையில், நம் வாழ்வில் மாற்றம் ஏற்பட வேண்டும் என்பதனையும் கருத்தில் கொண்டு பொங்கலை பொங்கவைப்பொம், இன்பத்தை பெருக்குவோம், மாற்றத்தை கொண்டு வருவோம் என கூறி, தைப்பிறந்தால் வழி பிறக்கும், விழி திறந்தாள் வழி கிடைக்கும், பொங்கல் பொங்கினால் இன்பம் பொங்கும், பொங்கலோ பொங்கல் என வாழ்த்தினார் சார்ல்ஸ்.

குடியுரிமை நிராகரிக்கப்பட்ட மலேசிய குடிமக்களின் உரிமைக்காக அமர்ந்து போராடுவோம் – சார்ல்ஸ் ஆதரவு

மலேசியாவிலே பிறந்து மலேசியராக வாழும் நமது இந்திய சமூகத்தினர் பலர் வருடங்கள் பல கடந்தும் இது நாள் வரை குடியுரிமை கிடைக்காமல் அல்லல் பட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர். இந்த பிரச்சனை இந்தியர்களின் நீங்கா பிரச்சனையாக இருந்து வருகின்றது என தமது ஆழ்ந்த வருத்தத்தை தெரிவித்தார் கிள்ளான் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோ.

“மை டப்தார்” எனப்படும் என் பதிவு நடவடிக்கை மலேசியா முழுதும் நடத்தப் பட்டன. அதில் பல்லாயிரக்கனக்கான மலேசிய இந்தியர்கள் விண்ணப்பங்கள் அனுப்பியும் பலருக்கு ஒரு முறையான தீர்வு காணப்படாமல் இருக்கின்றன. இவர்களில் பலர் இன்று நேற்றல்ல பல ஆண்டுகாலமாக குடியுரிமைக்காக விண்ணப்பித்தவர்களாவர்.

இனியும் காத்துக் கிடப்பது சரியான முடிவல்ல. குடியுரிமை நிராகரிக்கப்பட்ட மலேசிய குடிமக்களின் உரிமைக்காக அமர்ந்து போராடும் உரிமை பேரணியான அமைதி பேரணியில் இந்தியர்கள் தளராது கலந்துக் கொண்டு ஆதரவை நல்குமாறும் தான் அதில் நிச்சயம் கலந்துக் கொள்ளப் போவதாகவும் சார்ல்ஸ் கூறினார். நமது உரிமை பறிக்கப் படும்போது நாம்தான் அதை தட்டிக் கேட்க வேண்டும். அனைவரையும் புதன்கிழமை 12/12/12, காலை மணி 10.00 க்கு, புத்ரா ஜெயா,தேசிய பதிவு இலாகாவில் அமைதியாக ஒன்று கூடுமாறு இந்திய சமூகத்தினரை கேட்டுக் கொண்டார் அவர்.

 

தீபாவளி பெருநாளை இனிதே கொண்டாடுவோம்

தீயவையை வென்று, இருளை அகற்றி, தீப ஒளியை பிகாசிக்க வைத்த நாளான அந்த தீப ஒளி நாளையே நாம் ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் தீபாவளியாகக் கொண்டாடுகின்றோம்.

எம்மதமும் பாராது, பல்லின மக்களுடனும் ஒன்றிணைந்து, உற்றார் உறவினர்களுடனும் அண்டை அயலாருடனும் இன்பமாய் கொண்டாடி மகிழும் இத்தீபத்திருநாளில் புதிய சிந்தனையும் புதிய மாற்றமும் வர வேண்டும் என ஒவ்வொரு இந்திய குடிமகனும் என்ன வேண்டும் என கேட்டுக் கொண்டார் கிள்ளான் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோ.

எதிரியாய் இருப்பினும் பகைமையை மறந்து, தீபாவளியன்று வந்தோரை இன்முகத்துடன் வரவேற்கும் நாம்  புதிய மாற்றம் உண்டாக வேண்டும் என்ற சிந்தனையை வரவேற்று, நாம் வளம் பெறவும் நம் சமூதாயம் பலன் பெறவும் ஒன்றிணைத்து செயல் படவேண்டும்  என கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

மலேசியாவில் வாழும் இந்தியர்கள் மட்டுமில்லாது, உலகிலுள்ள அனைத்து இந்தியர்களுக்கும் தனது நெஞ்சார்ந்த வாழ்த்துக்களை தெரிவித்துக் கொண்டார் சார்ல்ஸ்.

ஆளுங்கட்சி, எதிர்கட்சி என பாராது உண்மைகளை திரிக்காமல் வெளியிட வேண்டிய நிர்பந்தத்தில், நமது தமிழ் நாளேடுகள் பங்காற்றி வரும் இவ்வேளையில், அவை அரசாங்க எதிர்ப்பு செய்திகளையும் இனத்துவேச செய்திகளையும் வெளியிட்டு வருகின்றன என உத்துசான் மலேசியா தனது கண்ணோட்டப் பகுதியில் எழுதியுள்ளது திடுக்கிடும் செய்தி என கூறினார் கிள்ளான் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோ.

தமிழ்  பத்திரிக்கைகளை குறை கூறுவதும் விமர்சிப்பதும்  உத்துசானின் பொறுப்பள்ள என கூறிய சார்ல்ஸ், முதலில் உத்துசான் மலேசியா தனது முதுகை திரும்பிப் பார்க்கும் படி கேட்டுக் கொண்டார். மலாய் சமூதாயத்தினரிடையே நம்பிக்கை இழந்திருக்கும் உத்தூசன் தனது குறை குற்றங்களை சரி செய்யாமல், தமிழ் நாளேடுகளை குற்றம் சாட்டுவது ஏன் எனவும் கேள்வி எழுப்பினார். முதலில் உங்கள் நிர்வாகத்தை சரி செய்யுங்கள், உங்கள் பணியை சரி வர செய்யுகள், பிறகு மற்ற பத்திரிக்கையை பற்றி பேசுங்கள்.

பத்திரிக்கை என்பது நடுநிலையாக நின்று, மக்களின் நலன் கருதி உண்மைகளை வெளிச்சத்திற்கு கொண்டு வர வேண்டிய கடைப்பாட்டில் செயல் படவேண்டிய ஒன்று. அதை செவ்வென செய்யும் நமது தமிழ் பத்திரிக்கைகளை குறை கூறுவதை உத்துசான் மலேசியா நிறுத்த வேண்டும்.

இவ்வாறான அவதூறுகளை கண்டு நாம் பயப் படக் கூடாது. மாறாக, தமிழ் பத்திரிகைகள் என்ற முறையில், மக்கள் ஓசை, தினக் குரல், மலேசியா நண்பன், தமிழ் நேசன் போன்ற நாளேடுகள் உண்மைகளை புலப்பட வெளியிட வேண்டும். நடுநிலையாகவும், சம நிலையாகவும் செய்திகளை வெளியிடுதலில் முக்கியத்துவமும், மக்களுக்கு பயனான  விஷயங்களை கொண்டு சேர்ப்பதில் கண்ணும் கருத்துமாய் செயல் பட வேண்டும் எனவும் கேட்டுக் கொண்டார் சார்ல்ஸ்.

இந்திய மாணவர்கள் மெட்ரிக்குலேசன் வகுப்புகளுக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்க குறுகிய காலம் மட்டும்தானா? சார்ல்ஸ் கேள்வி

துணைப் பிரதமர் முகைதின் யாசின் இந்திய மாணவர்கள் 557 பேருக்கு மெட்ரிக்குலேசனில் வாய்ப்பு வழங்குவதாக அறிவித்திருப்பதும் அதுவும் ஒரே ஒரு முறைதான் அந்த வாய்ப்பு என்று அறிவித்திருப்பதும் பல கேள்விகளை எழுப்புகின்றன. இந்திய மாணவர்கள் மெட்ரிக்குலேசன் வகுப்புகளுக்கு விண்ணப்பிக்க குறுகிய காலம் மட்டும்தானா என கேள்வி எழுப்பினார் கிள்ளான் நாடாளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர் சார்ல்ஸ் சந்தியாகோ.

கடந்த ஆண்டில் பிரதமர் நாஜிப் ஆயிரம் இடங்கள் வழங்குவதாக அறிவித்தார். அந்த வகையில் இவ்வாண்டு வழங்கப்பட்ட 1,539 இடங்களில் 943 இடங்கள் நிரப்பப்பட்டிருக்கின்றன. மீதமுள்ள இடங்களை நிரப்ப ஒரே ஒரு முறைதான் என்ற அடிப்படையில் தகுதி உள்ள மேலும் 557 பேருக்கு வாய்ப்பு வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

வாய்ப்புகள் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளதை வரவேற்கும் அதே வேளையில் ஏன் குறுகிய மற்றும் ஒரு முறை வாய்ப்பு என்ற முறையில் வழங்கப்பட்டுள்ளது. இது இந்திய சமூதாயத்தினரிடையே குறிப்பாக இந்திய மாணவர்களிடையே பெரும் ஏமாற்றத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியுள்ளது என தெரிவித்த சார்லஸ், இவ்வாய்ப்பு தகுதி உள்ள இந்திய மாணவர்களுக்கு ஒரு குறுகிய காலக் கட்டம் என வரம்பு இல்லாமல் தொடர்ந்து வழங்கப்பட வேண்டும் என கேட்டுக் கொண்டார்.

மேலும், இந்திய மாணவர்கள் ஏழ்மையின் காரணமாக கல்வியை மேற்கொள்ளாமல் இருப்பதும், பலரின் விண்ணப்பங்கள் நிராகரிக்கப் படுவதும் இந்தியர்களின் மற்றொரு தீரா பிரச்சனையாக இருக்கும் இக்காலாகட்டத்தில் தகுதி உள்ள இந்திய மாணவர்களுக்கு இவ்வாறான தகுந்த வாய்ப்புகளை அரசாங்கம் பரவலாக வழங்க வேண்டும் எனவும் இது ஒரு நீண்ட கால திட்டமாக இருப்பதையும் அரசாங்கம் உறுதி செய்தாக வேண்டும் எனவும் வலியுறுத்தினார் அவர்.

 

Threats, Racism & Lies: A Regime Hanging On To Power?

Civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr said “Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity”. I wonder what ruling Barisan Nasional’s Sri Gading lawmaker Mohamad Aziz is. Chances are maybe both. I cannot really say I am shocked by his statement calling for Bersih’s co-chairperson Ambiga Sreenevasan to be “hanged” for treason towards the King. Mohamad called her a traitor for leading the call for free and fair elections, prompting tens of thousands of people to take to the streets last July. We have been seeing politicians from the ruling camp spewing venom just because they have absolute power and know their dangerously stupid remarks would be dismissed. And sure enough BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor said Mohamad’s views were his personal opinion and do not reflect party stance. And then he subtly reminded the public that the case related to the Bersih 3.0 assembly is still under investigation by the authorities. Mohamad was not reprimanded although his remarks have the danger of further dividing the nation which is already split down the middle as a result of race-based politics. But realizing his statement sounds ludicrous, he scrambled around to manage the damage done by saying he was merely posing a question to parliament on the possibility of Ambiga being punished. Then Mohamad retracted his remarks. It is shameless that threats and attacks have been mounted on Ambiga because she is an easy target. Mohamad’s statement is not just racist but also seditious. Its clear he threatened Ambiga because she is a woman, an Indian and a Hindu. Even her counterpart, poet laureate Samad Said has said he has been spared because he is a Malay. Prime minister Najib Razak goes around town trying to engage different communities with his 1Malaysia rhetoric which aims at national integration through racial unity. But his men don’t get it, do they? And Najib himself has kept painfully mum when Ambiga was targeted. Malaysians sent a strong message at the rally, demanding for electoral reforms. The crowd that turned up cut across a diverse segment of the society. And the government is still reeling from the hit it took – not just because it was unprepared to handle a politically maturing society but also because of the back lash it suffered due to arbitrary and excessive force by the police. Almost a year after the rally, the government is yet to implement durable reforms ahead of a general election, which is described as one that would be the dirtiest in the country’s political history. Instead, we have seen Najib throwing money to buy votes. But all the cash handouts and speeches peppered with racial undertones, threats of a looming disaster if UMNO loses power plus promises of even more money to the people have not worked to shift the sentiments on the ground. People are fed-up of a corrupt government. People are fed-up of the ruling elite lining its pockets. People are fed-up of race-based policies. People are fed-up of widespread discrimination. In short the people want a change of government and Barisan Nasional politicians are growing out of ideas to hoodwink the public. So we have a few stupid men talking nonsense. BN politicians are growing out of ideas to hoodwink the public, including the latest attempt by Umno MP Mohamad Aziz.
