We’ve waited 10 years to see the most corrupt state government in Malaysia replaced by decent people. At last the curse of ethnocentric Tempurungism is lifted from Selangor! When the Selangor Dam was first mooted in 1998, Ronnie Liu made a valiant attempt to help the Orang Asli in the Pertak area. And now, I can see a ray of hope that before long, ancestral lands pledged to the Temuan in 1965 may finally be gazetted – and the Orang Asli rescued from systematic ethnocide! Bravo, all of you! Just keep going (and don’t forget to take some time out to recharge. You fully deserve it after that epic battle with the BN juggernaut! đŸ™‚

Dear YB Charles, I am writing on behalf of residents of Tmn Palm Grove (old area) Klang, facing the tmn.petaling garden, which is separated by a big monsoon drain. On Thu 27 Nov 2008, at 9.30pm water from this big monsoon drain overflowed and many houses included mine at Persiaran Seraya, were flooded by the rushing water. We had to spend hours cleaning the houses after the flood water subsided. Reasons for the flood :- monsoon drain full of mud and silt which could not hold volume of water due to heavy rain and the walls of the drain too low to prevent water from overflowing. Unless action is taken to solve this problem I am afraid we will suffer another flooding whwm it rains non stop for 1-2 hours. Hope YB, will send a repesentative to meet us at persiaran seraya, tmn.palm grove, klang to look into our problem.
Thanks

It is about time the Indian community injected itself with a dose of reality rather than to follow blindly the self serving interests of ego maniacs, inconsistent, incompentent political chameleons and manipulators as Anwar Ibrahim and Lim Kit Siang have proved themselves to be for decades.
Quite clearly and its not just the Neilson or SBS polling that proves, an angry ‘get even’ mobilised Indian community can hold balance of power and weild it effectively even where they constitute a minority such as they are in Malaysia.
As has been written previously in various blogs, including the highly controversial Joe Fernandez’s blog and, in his writings in Malaysia Kini, the Indians of Malaysia have to learn to leverage their bargaining position more effectively and to use it more productively than to wait for a savior to emerge from behind the clouds.
If Indian politicians have not yet adhered to that call by now, they are placing themselves in a more precarious position than that they were in prior to March 2008.
If however, on the other hand they have heeded that call, they would by now be engaging Barisan National, the coalition where real power lies, weighing their options carefully, horse flesh trading with the devil if necessary and preparing for the period after the honeymoon of 8 March 2008.
Such a move would be a politically positive and mature step forward for all who matter. The question is who amongst the Makkal Sakti will now back down and remain prisoner of the Anwar Kit Siang cliques and that of their communities. We note the succumbing to Chinese characters again in some of their blogs.
Samy Velu for all his faults (and yes he was one with many), was not an insiginifcant partner of the BN during his tenure in office. During his reign he with Mahathir’s and indulgence inspite of Anwars objections, was responsible for more development and prosperity amongst Indians in Malaysia than all his predecessors combined managed to achieve during their unworthy lives in office. And for the failures Indians cannot simply blame all of their misery on Samy Velu alone.
The community in its divided form must shoulder some blame. Much of it. Samy Velu is a spent force and a memory of a past some of which Indian’s would like to forget. It’s the future Indian Malaysian’s have to focus on. That New Dawn.
In his later years Samy Velu may have misused or used his position ineffectively misguided either by individual interests or by circumstances whilst at the helm of the MIC and in government.
But it must be remembered the Malay dominated government (BN at least during the Mahathir years)allowed him and his members more latitude in government for the benefit of the Indian community than Anwar or Kit Siang or other influential Indians ever did for Indian communities in Malaysia.
Manickavasagam (MIC), Murughesu (found dead in a Chinese brothel in chow Kit) (MIC) and Sambathan (all deceased)(MIC)had it all to themselves, played caste and sub group politics in their divisive strategies, plundered Indian opportunities and resources for themselves and their clans and ruthlessley sold Indian labourers out to the Chinese usurpers of the exiting British planation owners. The personal private and family lives of these late MIC MP’s were no different in disloyalty, betrayals and other moral breaches.
Theresa Kok with her Chinese characters on her website is indicative of the Chinese “Ajak Ajak Ayam” attitude of being friends of other minorities (read Indian) provding these are Chinese or people like the Indian PKR members who are happy to play second fiddle to the Chinese and the Chinese controled Malays like the Anwar Ibrahims of this world.
The churches for all the large numbers of Indians who faithfully serve them, iare as divisive and exploitave of them. They are patently anti Hindu in their doctrine and in the application of the same in practice.
They will support a chauvanist like Theresa Kok but continue to step on the Indians unless they are well connected and Christian. The practice must stop and 50 PKR Indians who must quit en masse to become that third force a true democratic Malaysia and the Indian community deserves must ensure that change comes not in the future but now.
Carpe Diem: “Seize the Moment”
If the Indians do not face political reality and make amends, build bridges with the majority (BN) now, then re position themselves for a fairer, more equitable distribution of power and opportunities and enter into more cordial working relationship with the majority (read the BN), their recent victories will be squandered in a “three wishes election results”. A single sausage for their windfall in 8 March 2008. The concept of positioning for power and leveraging political clout is a skill many lack amongst the 50. But why rely on hangers on only? you have a diaspora of some of the most skilled and experienced Indians at your fingertips worldwide to use. Access it to benefit your communities in Malaysia and benefit your adoptive homeland Malaysia.
The PKR 50 will be no different to their predecessors if they fail to act decisively and courageously now. The repercussions for failing to grab the opportunity for the community will be ruthless and personal.
The PKR 50 must act not in a vengful way of redressing past wrongs which is unproductive and a waste of time but must work focusing exclusively on the present and future of all Indians in Malaysia in the context of a united Malaysia.
Indians whether they wish to admit to it or not are culturally closer than any other group is to the Malays. And for this reason alone Indians should be more considered and sensitive when dealing with Malay sentiments however ridiculous it may at first seem to them.
A cacophonous minority orchestrating divisive anti government sentiment from behind the scenes and beyond borders may seem like a vocal majority which they are not. Singling out individual government failures to taint an entire race and nation is not what good governance or good politics is about. Yes the Malays too have faults but who has not? We have come this far with all of our collective faults remaining a cohesive force as a people inspite of it without wanting separate statehood like the British engineered with Singapore and Pakistan. Reject divisive politics.
The meeting of 50 Indians of PKR should assist in bolstering government or create a new third force which they are and serve to bolster those who will serve Indian interests even if in opposition only (Indian Malaysian that is) and help steer the community to a more independent and prosperous future.
This can be achieved as a block from within the opposition benches (preferable) or with a united front with government as an independent entity allowing government the majority it may wish for but with strings attached. That’s politics. Its about deal making and not about approtioning blame or mere sloganeering.
There are sufficient numbers of Malays of part Indian extraction in government.Religion is not the critical component required for membership of political parties under the constitution even if that criteria is sometimes flawed in its application.
The sum total of Indians in parliament therefore is far greater than believed by most. The race should be the last card if it has to be played. Concentrate on common goals. The DAP is a Singaporean Trojan horse. Anyone who doubts that assertion has to have their heads examined. Lim Kit Siang hamelessley excises those who post articles on his blog if they contradict or differ from his point of view. Thats the extent of his idea of free speech and democracy much like that of his political master.
Remember, much of the problems faced by Indians in Malaysia are of their own making and of the Machiavellian set ups by communities other than Malays safely living accross the borders of Malaysia.
Indians themselves have served to betray their constituencies from the time of the Seenivasagam brothers, Manicka and Sambanthan, Murugeshu (who died in a Chow Kit Brothel), V David and others. None can claim to have really advanced the very difficlt plight of Indians, mainly Tamil working class people exploited not by Bumis but by ruthless Chinese merchants and gangsters who see themselves as lords and masters of the country’s economy. That has to stop now and the PKR 50 going independent must herald that change.
Samy velu could not do what Indians themselves as a community would not do for themselves. Blaming one man for an entire communities woes is proof of the hand out mentality and the failure of the community to help itself.
Africans have fared worse in the US yet they managed to keep their grievances amongst themselves to a necessary minimum whilst helping themsleves to a resounding moral and political victory with the election of Barack Obama to the White House.
If Malaysia is home to the Indians then it should be expressed in the actions and words of Indians and their leaders of Makkal Sakti intelligently and not through emotionally driven unacceptable public conduct.
There cannot be another betrayal as happened with the formation of Singapore. Ask the Malays what they felt at that betrayal and they will tell you how close it is to what most Indians feel about the same incident at separation.
Come on Manickavasagam MP for Kapar, Charles Santiago (St. James in Spanish) and all Indians at the PKR. Anwars ship has been leaking on you against aa static tree rooted to one spot. And it has been so at your expense. Now you’ve learned your lesson don’t compromise. Move on.
You are a force to be reckoned with and by all experienced reliable political analysis Indians have the balance of power in their hands now. Don’t squander it. Work with the BN if necessary. Show some political maturity rather than the school boy fighting mentality which carries through to adulthood.
The infighting in UMNO and the BN is no different to that we witnessed between Clinton and Obama in the Democrats or in Congress in India. That’s politics. don’t let the side down now.
If you need professional volunteer legal and financial assistance or supporter please do not hesitate to contact the writer. There are many millions of us in the diaspora who will gladly assist.
You must take that first step though to re assert yourselves as worthy and equal partners in Malaysian society. It is now your moral and political responsibility to take those risks even if it makes you unpopolar amongst PKR and move. You were elected to high office not to serve Anwar but policies he espoused at and prior to election time which he has clearly discarded or if he hasn’t yet has demonstrated a clear and unequivocal intent to do so. Don’t let the Indians down. Don’t act as yellow livered cowards.

YEAH. THANK YOU YAB.
Tetapi, bagaimana pula ketua -ketua komuniti yang dilantik oleh kerajaan Pakatan Rakyat? Is YAB willing to scrutinize the name list submitted by Ketua Komuniti semasa mengagihkan tanah lot kepada orang kampung walaupun katanya senarainya telah dibanji oleh pegawai kerajaan?
Dear YAB Menteri Besar Selangor,
1. Are you willing to scrutinize the name list?
2. Please set the basis for selecting the eligible people for the plot.
3. Will the ketua komuniti dare to submit the list with the Electric Bill / Water Bill to prove that the names in the list are eligible for the plot?
4. And those with no Electric Bill / Water Bill, can they show where is their BUMBUNG in that area. ?
My objective is to ensure there will be no more victims like me in future.
